Psalm 35:3, "Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, 'I am your salvation.'"
I love the part, "Say to my soul, 'I am your salvation.'" That reminder whispered in your ear that goes down to your soul. "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." (Isaiah 46:4)
When you are pursued by enemies, seen and unseen, there is peace that flows like a river in your soul because you can trust that the creator of the universe has this and will vindicate you for His name's sake. I don't get to pick the timing and I don't get to pick what it looks like, but I serve a God whose promises have been true since the beginning. I've never been a betting person, but those are pretty good odds.
