Psalm 27:13-14, "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
I love this promise of beholding the goodness of the Lord. Reminds me of the song, "I Can Only Imagine". It's beyond imagination. I've heard recountments from books I've read, Ninety Minutes in Heaven and Heaven is for Real, and just from these accounts the beauty is beyond amazing. I had a coworker who was in a car accident and in a coma. I was talking to my boss about her and saying how I would have a hard time coming back seeing the beauty of heaven except for my kids. My boss, also a believer in Christ, said she had heard that once we are there the things of this earth don't even matter anymore, so wonderful it is.
Paul tells us, "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." (1 Corinthians 13:12). But we were not left without hope and confidence. I misunderstood "land of the living" as I read it thinking it was talking about earth. The "land of the living", Dr. Constable tells us, is Heaven. Earth is the land of the dying. In this land of the dying, He tells us wait, be strong, take heart. We will see Him and know Him fully. Of this I am confident.
