Psalm 125:1, "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever."

Dr. Constable said it best, so I will just take from him.  "Those who trust in the Lord are eternally secure, but they can choose to follow Him faithfully and experience His blessing, or depart from Him and suffer His discipline."

Tough love?  Maybe.  But as a parent, sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give discipline or let your child experience the consequences of their choices.  And never once do you, as a parent, stop loving your child.  That love is secure...from before they were even born.  

How much more so a perfect heavenly Father who loves His child?  He loves you so much, He holds your forever in His hands; and He loves you so much He is going to bless you for your good, and let you learn from your mistakes.  It's what a good, good Father does.
