Psalm 58:11, "Then men will say, 'Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.'"
"It is written: '"As surely as I live," says the Lord, "every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God."' (Romans 14:11) The day, it is a comin'. You can count on it. The world will be judged rightly. It doesn't seem like it should be that hard. Why can't it happen now? Why can't we judge rightly? Some can and some do.
What I love about this psalm after studying it is that David CAN. He was God's anointed King with all authority to punish Israel's wicked judges. Even in his power, however, he deferred to God as THE ultimate authority who had the ultimate authority over the wicked. So, he prayed...kinda a scary, imprecatory prayer about ripping their teeth out. But instead of acting violently toward them himself, he took his anger and laid at the feet of someone who could handle it with the confidence that God not only could but would.
He also set an example for believers. We should pray about our unjust rulers and know that God WILL deal with them righteously and submit to His will for handling it. He's big enough to handle judges and he's big enough to handle the wicked and unjust in our own lives when we follow David's example. He's got a handle on it. "Don't be afraid, just believe." (Mark 5:36)
